German Persil
Seems like the Germans brought some good stuff, huh? But anyway...concerning the froth-factor: The Megapearls over here always produced lots of suds. Just overdose a little and you were done. That's why I stopped using them. Haven't tried the super brand-new formula which just...
scent
So for those of you wondering about the scent.... On one of my trips I've been to Walmart and sniffed some versions of the Persil.
The pearls smell nearly the same as in Germany,, so no big difference there.
The Original Scent liquid smells like the Persil gel in Germany. I would say it...
I just had a look...
... at the recent analysis of your water in your town an it even says that it has a bit more then 40° dH. This is just insane high. Do you have anything like a unit to soften the water? Otherwise you would be busy with buying new appliances all the time....
Concerning the...
Here!
In the past, I was looking for Gain Apple Mango Tango stuff. I found the HE version of the detergent and I bought it. The fabric softener smells not so pleasant in my opinion.
What I don't like about these washers is that you just have a limited selection of temperatures and the cycles. Most of them I don't need but others that I would need are not available.
Ariel Excel Gel seems to be pretty famous in UK. It has been discontinued in Germany as people are going back to buy big boxes of powder. We are currently seeing lots and lots of super xxl value size boxes and bottles with 48, 70 oder even 90 to 100 washes. Those sizes are selling like hot cakes...
Gain will launche their version of "Pods". They will be called Gain "Flings". Was wondering how long they will take to bring out detergent pods after the launch of Tide pods.

Sorry...
...but the prices you pay for Persil are just insane. I know it is quite popular among some of you but in comparison what we pay in Germany, those prices are just from another world. I think you would be better off buying powdered Tide or so.
But the prices at the Persil store...OMG...
We had quite a discussion about the machines in the German Forum. 3 to 5 members already have those machines. While one half is satisfied, the other half is not so convinced, we even had a case where the Miele service had to come (now for the third time) because of several issues. It seems that...
@mrboilwash: The Aldi North stores indeed were (or still are) not very good looking but Aldi has recognized this and is upgrading the stores fast. But I still don't like them and I would prefer Aldi South. I live near the division-line so I get the benefit of both stores ;)
May I...
...explain to you:
ALDI in Germany is divided in Aldi South and Aldi North. The country is like divided in the middle. Aldi South is considered as a bit better than Aldi North for different reasons. Nicer stores, better products but overall they are pretty equal.
Now in the US the...
Lenor new range
So let me clear that up for you: Lenor has changed the complete range but has not updatet the website yet. For example breath of fresh air is now ocean escape. Scent is basically the same with only some very small changes. I know that scent, I have it here but still with the old...
It's Softlan, owned by fit.
Oh Alex!!! How could you ??? :-P "Softlan" is Colgate-Palmolive owned while "Kuschelweich" is from fit. You sure mixed up^^
Well over all this is a wonderful thread. It shows that Germany seems to have some wonderful detergents that everyone wants to have :-D...
Well, in our Neff dishwasher (part of Bosch-Siemens) everthing gets clean and it has one sprayarm and it just rotates in one direction. So I don't see the benefit of a reversing spray arm.
Hello and congrats to your new set.
You have good machines there. AEG today is just a shadow of its former self. The quality is absolutely nothing compared to what it was years or even decades ago. The brand shares the fate of many other good brands that built good machines in the past. I...
@ovrphil:
I do have products from UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Repubilc and the Netherlands as well as from the United States. As a flight attendant it is easy to get those products.
And to answer the question:
YES, I will use all the things I have and YES I do collect detergents as a hobby. But as mentioned, I don't keep them forever. I do use them step by step.
I do wash for two people and a dog and I do have 25 loads a month. Sometimes just 20 but sometimes 30. It...
