You asked for a Horizontal-Axis Top Load washer?

Where’d it go? It appears the Niagara has been out of production for a while? Anyone know the scoop?

    Maytag LA211 issue

Nathaniel, The sound and speed are exactly normal. I don't see or hear anything different with your machine than I do with my orbital here at home, and the 6 I have at the laundromat.

KA dw without a Sensor cycle

Thank you, John! But then are all 3 cycles sensor cycles? If that's the case, then the light cycle should work just as effectively as the heavy duty cycle. What does the sensing modify?

    Trip Through Some German Waschsalons

Huebsch vs. SQ The same can kinda be said for Huebsch and SQ machines. Huebsch is economical entry; SQ is upscale. But I have not found that much of a difference between these brands other than programmability.

    Trip Through Some German Waschsalons

Wascomat vs. Elux Wascomat is now the more economical choice for laundries. Less flexibility with programming, and the good old fashion 100g spin. Wascomat dryers are very gas efficient but only allow 1-way tumbling, Elux is upscale, with hardmount 200g and softmount 300g spins. They are...

KA dw without a Sensor cycle

No, there is no Prowash cycle I know it is not called Sensor Wash. It only has 4 cycles: Heavy Duty, Normal Wash, Light/China, 1 Hour Wash - there’s not a rinse only cycle.

KA dw without a Sensor cycle

A friend has a newer KA from just before the change to the filter system. It does have the Proscrub option, but no separate Sensor cycle. I’m pretty sure that it must have a turbidity sensor, and if so, how does it come into play with the Heavy Duty/Normal/Light cycle options? Thanks!

    Maytag helical or orbital transmission?

I also had both... I didn't like the pitman at all. I thought it was rougher on clothes. I now am using an orbital and love it. Just like with the pitman, I never use the extra large load setting. Neither the Power Fin nor the Power Fin 12 can really handle the full extra large load, and...

    Laundromat adventures

Soft mount commercial washers You do not find many soft mount washers in laundromats because they are so expensive to buy, often 2x - 4x the price of the hard mount machines. Plus, the business is built on the washer taking 30 mins for its cycle and the dryer taking 30 mins to dry, so the...

    Help identifying this Maytag set.

It's the first year for that design. The first year they were all "black face" and quickly introduced the white face that became much more common. When I moved to ATL in 1991, these were in all the big box stores. These were pre-LoadSensor.

    Vintage wascarator

The washer appears to be a 2nd or 3rd generation, early 1980's or earlier. Really a great washer. Since this is not a coin-op or OPL machine, you have some flexibility since it ran with cycle "cards" that could be custom cut by the user to create you own cycles based on the need. Load the...

    Maytag Load Sensing Agitator

Removing the auger to clean I just got a used LSA, and there is a HEAVY build up of softener/lint/hair gunk between the auger and the base of the agitator, down past the end of the funnel. How is the auger removed from the base? I've reviewed several online part diagrams, searched for videos...

    Uninformed Washer Users

Speaking of laundromats I walked into this last night in all 6 of my toploads. On these 3, I put them in diagnostic mode, got them drained, flipped the circuit breaker off, put “BROKEN FROM OVERLOADING” on them. Waiting to see when the culprit shows up.

    POD 8/11/2020

Truth Unlike other brands, the outer tub of the GE was bolted to the cabinet. In fact, the top of the washer doubled as the top of the outer tub. So instead of the inner and outer tub riding on the suspension, only the inner tub did. This left a lot of room on the side and bottom for lots...

    Maytag timers & misc questions

Good afternoon, all... Has anyone had any success in rebuilding MT timers themselves. The timers I need are long NLA. LAT9800 was DOA when I got it a few years ago, and now my Fabric-matic LA8650 has a dead call-to-fill circuit that is originating in the timer. The machine works fine - timer...
