Reversing on modern White Knight dryers et al?

Beko It's not the first time I've heard of that happening with a Beko dryers. Not sure what method of reversing they use, but they don't seem very successful. Quite a few don't seem to last very long either. In fact compared to their washers and dishwashers, their dryers seem pretty poor.

Reversing on modern White Knight dryers et al?

Might not be a new thing..... My old circa 1998 Zanussi Electronic Sensor dryer (TDS 483EW), which is now at my Mum's place of work, reverses for only a few seconds, and that is vented. The dryer which was previously in use at her work was a White Knight compact vented dryer, which looked to...

    Would you wash at 20?

No I can't see the point, at all. Might save a few pence, but big deal. Washing machines cost pennies in electricity compared to many other household items (dryers, ovens, kettles, electric showers) and dropping 10 or 20 degrees and no doubt running for longer to compensate (if our dishwashers...

A condenser dryer that takes just 37 minutes?

Mum's older Zanussi Just for clarification, my Mum's older 'Zanussi' is badged Electrolux, but is essentially the same as a Zanussi TC 470 under the badging.

A condenser dryer that takes just 37 minutes?

Not right! Hi Tom Crikey, something can't be right with that. Mine achieves the 55 minute drying time after spinning at 1200rpm. It might be even shorter if the load were spun at 1600rpm. Is the machine getting sufficiently hot? Have you checked all areas between the filters and condenser for...

Bearings - How Long Have We Got?

AquaCycle.... Strictly speaking it's my Parents machine as I'm just living with them at present, but yeah, we have a Beko now. It's a WMB 71231W (7kg 1200rpm). My Parents bought it last October for a property they rented out, to replace a 5yr old integrated Bosch washer dryer that'd developed...

Bearings - How Long Have We Got?

Too Late.... Too late i'm afraid. It belonged to the landlord so there was no way we were paying for it when we were paying over £1000 a month for the house. We moved a few months ago and it was left in the garage of the old house along with our own Zanussi Essential. We have a new Beko now...

A condenser dryer that takes just 37 minutes?

Which Zanussi? What model is your Zanussi dryer, Tom? 130 minutes is horrendous. Even my Mum's 12 year old Electrolux Condensor (based on a Zanussi of the same age) sorts out a load of towels in 90 minutes! My Zanussi would probably manage a full load of towels in 70 minutes, though I haven't...

A condenser dryer that takes just 37 minutes?

Very Quick My Zanussi (ZDC 37200W) which is one of Zanussi's most basic current condenser dryers will dry two double sheets (one flat, one fitted) a double duvet cover, two pillow cases & a set of PJs spun at 1200rpm, in 55 minutes, so condensors aren't all slow. But 37 minutes sounds very good!

Bearings - How Long Have We Got?

Zanussi are really going to rat sh!t lately... ...agreed! My biggest problem is there isn't much else that appeals to me. Hotpoint/Indesit have improved in the last couple of years, but I don't feel much attachment to them & these exploding drums and lack of recall action don't make me want to...

    Indesit on Watchdog again

Interesting watch.... It was an interesting watch. My Parents saw it and having always thought I was just being dramatic when I'd mentioned it to them in the past, were actually shocked at the damage it can cause. My Dad fits kitchens and knows how tough some worktops can be, so the way the...

Bearings - How Long Have We Got?

Dead and (probably) buried - That relates to both the problem and probably the WDA 1055W, since my parents moved a few months ago and it was left in the garage of the property, which is now empty. Bit curious as to why this has been resurrected, but since it has...... We installed the Zanussi...

In the market for a new tumble dryer....

Hotpoint might be alright..... but they wouldn't be at the top of my wish list just yet. The latest ones definately feel better quality but it's far too soon to start saying they're good machines. If they make it past 18 months & we've not seen vast amounts of broken ones popping up on eBay...

My Hotpoint-Electra is now basically a Zanussi Jetsystem

Well Done! Looks great, i'm sure it makes good viewing. Must be remembered that whilst newer Jetsystems (from the mid 1990s approx) had the water entering the drum via the door seal, the original Jetsystems of the 80s & early 90s had water spraying in via the top of the drum, just like here...

the aqualtis has had its days

Not on the lower priced machines :( Only 2 years on many washing machines, dryers & dishwashers. Seen a few washers with 5 or (like the one you're looking at) 10 years cover, but pretty much all the other appliances of theirs i've seen only have 2 years. Considering you can't get a washer of...

the aqualtis has had its days

Hi Paul! Sounds like your program times are abit shorter than my mates one. Is yours a 6kg? His is 7kg (the same machine Tom is planning to get, i think) and that gets close to or over 3 hours on Cottons, which seems excessive to me, even for 7kg. 2 hours or less for Cottons is acceptable...

the aqualtis has had its days

Best of Luck..... With the Miele. That's probably the most sensible machine to buy in the Miele range; under £1000 but with 10 year warranty, so basically less than £100 per year of guaranteed use. The cheaper ones with 2 year warranty seem like a waste of time to me. If they break after 5...

    New Servis website

Indifferent.... I don't dislike them, but nor do i think 'wow i want one' either. They're pretty inoffensive looking. Seem pretty expensive for what is (to those outside of the trade) an unproven brand. If they definately have replaceable/accesible bearings then i'd give one a whirl - the...

New Hotpoint's Without Eco Wash Launched (FUTURA)

Comet Prices Comet prices are all over the place at the moment (at least for laundry appliances). I was looking the other day & they were charging like £200 more for a machine than they were a few weeks ago. They got bought out by a company (possibly a Private Equity Firm) a short while ago...

Hotpoint UK Washers & Dryers - 1st Automatic to final New Generation

Cheers Paul. Thank you Paul for uploading so many of the photos. Brings back many childhood memories including sitting on the kitchen floor watching my Mum's first automatic washing machine, a 95450, as a 2 year old! Bought in 1984 following my arrival in 1983, it worked pretty damn hard for...
