Now the Whirlpool Arcelik hybrids are coming

Too add to the possible confusion, in the UK there is this Indesit Washer Dryer that IMO looks like it might be from a Chinese OEM: https://ao.com/product/idma75624mytimeuk-indesit-my-time-washer-dryer-white-105485-2.aspx

Splendide Vented Washer/Dryer combo 110 v. Any thoughts?

Now that Whirlpool has more or less sold off their Europe, Middle East and Africa division to Beko (Arcelik), it is likely that the Indesit machine designs will be retired or merged into the Beko designs. At that stage it will be interesting to see if Splendide will adopt the eventual Beko...

Vintage Frigidaire Laundry Center In UK

IIRC those types of machines were sold commercially in the UK for the likes of care homes etc. I remember seeing a white one (I don't know if it was a Frigidaire or another brand) in a laundry room in a care home next to a local hospital I was visiting back in 2011.

Modern AEG users, how are you finding your machines?

While not an AEG branded machine, I have had my Zanussi ZWD71663NW Washer Dryer for 6 years now. The drum bearings sound fine though I think there PCB is starting to glitch out occasionally. Sometimes it will make multiple clicking sounds before it starts a cycle, and on one occasion when I was...

New Whirlpool designed Hotpoint... with a split tub!

@washerguy02 Absolutely, I wasn't expecting that. According to the specs on ao.com it also includes a pre-wash option, which I'm glad to see :-) A point of note is that it is made in China unlike previous Hotpoint models. @miele4life Yes the drum lifters look identical to the non Indesit...

New Whirlpool designed Hotpoint... with a split tub!

Hi all, it looks like there are a few new (I presume) entirely Whirlpool designed washing machines being sold under the Bauknecht and Hotpoint brands. Example is the H7W945WBUK which is available from ao.com. Looking at the Hotpoint parts website, the exploded part diagrams (link below) show...

    Haier washer dryer combo.

My circa late 2015 Zanussi/Electrolux Lindo 1000 ZWD71663NW Washer Dryer takes around 6 hours for a full cotton 60 degree C wash, loaded to the drying capacity of 4 Kg and dry cycle, which includes a 1600 RPM spin and the drying sensor set to extra dry. Though it will often cut the tine down...

    Haier washer dryer combo.

Hmm might have an interesting leniage! Looking at the position of the pump access flap, I wonder if it is derived from the earlier Haier XQG50-11 which in turn is based on the 1990s Indesit Omega line (from the former Italian Merloni Elettrodomestici/Indesit Company which is now part of Whirlpool).

    Mieles terrible connectivity

IMHO the whole craze for connected appliances is a disaster waiting to happen. I've had some support/programming experience with some of the dreaded IoT (Internet of things) devices and even if they are new and/or "supported" they still have plenty of bugs, and there are plenty of cases of...

    Introducing The AEG 46200 TopLader

@mrboilwash: Single paddle FL Regarding front loaders with a single paddle, I remember a few years ago at my local department store, Fenwick of Newcastle, they were selling a slim(ish) depth Zanussi with a 6kg or 7kg load with a shallow drum and a single paddle. It was definitely an Electrolux...

Hoover Dynamic Nexxt Made In China

As far as I know, all Hoover/Candy Washer Dryers are made in Italy, Dryers in Turkey and Washers being made in China or Italy depending on the model/batch or some other factor.

    Do you trust Beko?

According to Companies House Hoover ltd is now owned by Domea SpA so perhaps Candy are having a bit of a re-structure. Also, as they say everything is for sale at the right price :-p

Washer Dryer Combo : Beko vs Candy vs Indesit

On Which, new Beko washer dryers score higher than Indesit and Candy machines, with the main criticism being that the dryer sensor is sometimes inaccurate. However from my experience, most drying sensors in washer dryers struggle with things like large sheets and duvet covers which come out with...

    Can Our British Friends Help?

I had a ex who swore by a Teapot as they felt it made better tasting tea rather than brewing tea in the cup. IMHO the best kind cuppa is made from loose tea. The buttery at my place of work serve it and it always seems to be more flavoursome.

Whirlpool buys 60% of Indesit for €758m

Interesting times, I wonder if we'll see further buyouts or mergers of the other large European appliance groups.

    Aqualits Glass just Smashed

I'd get them to replace the drum/tub too as there may be pieces of small glass caught between the inner and outer tub, potentially causing more damage to the machine and to clothes.

    Ubuntu

I find the Ubuntu user interface difficult to use. They have also caused controversy by tracking user searches on their computers.   On the other had, the Ubuntu derivative Kubuntu uses the KDE desktop which is very flexible and should be familiar to Windows Users.

    Hoover/Camdychinese or still Italian?

@optima You made my day! @elie55121 If it says Italy on the sticker then it must be from there but as dj-gabriele pointed out it doesn't mean it's any different to a Chinese produced example. I think some of the low end Candy/Hoover models for the EU market are sourced from either Russia or...
