Moisture Sensor on my dryer not allowing dryer to advance

Update Put a new dryer hose on, made sure the rigid pipe was clear (which it was), and cleaned in inside of the lint compartment and back of inside drum (inside the holes lint accumulates). Did a test run empty, and within 10 minutes the auto dry moved! Have a load in the washer now...

Moisture Sensor on my dryer not allowing dryer to advance

I am hoping you can help me diagnose the problem. I have a 2001 Kenmore (Frigidaire) gas fired dryer. Yesterday DH put a load of sopping wet clothes into the dryer. It ran about 15 minutes before I went to check the lint (he hadnt emptied it from last load) to find that he did this. Now the...

Sears Ultra Plus Powder w/Stain Fighter 120 load box 1/2 price

Taking a calculator shopping Big box stores like to do fuzzy math when it comes to listing "unit" prices on the shelves. Between two sizes of an item, the change the way the list the unit price. Sometimes its actually cheaper to buy smaller containers or packaging. Makes no sense. Yeah...

Sears Ultra Plus Powder w/Stain Fighter 120 load box 1/2 price

Just a heads up :) I picked up 4 boxes at my local Sears; 2 for me, 2 for my parents. I took half of what they had out. Only this size was on sale, Im guessing to clear out inventory for the new packaging. They didnt have the Free & Clear. The salesman said that a new company would be...

    Tide he Turbo

Liquid Tide HE Turbo After reading this thread, I picked up a bottle - though I could only get the Clean Breeze (at Walmart no surprise). Just a note that I have soft water. I am really impressed. Low suds, water nice and slick. I normally use vinegar in my last rinse, but decided not to...

    Huebsch ZFN50R Arrived Today!!!!

Its been a while since Ive checked in... Just wanted to update that I have the American back deck version bought 2 years ago this past February. I have the hum when the machine is off, and the door rattle on certain loads. The noise I had during change of direction in the drum when I first...

    Felt glide replacement question.

Dryer fixed! Got the lower felt today via UPS. All cleaned up and installed. Clamped lightly and set for about an hour. Put machine back together, beautiful seal and no play in the drum (concerned about back bearing). Time to do more wash tomorrow! Woohoo!

Sears Ultra Plus Stain-Fighting Formula Detergent

I agree the Sears Ultra Plus has a hard time in cold temps. I seem to remember the old box formula for Cheer (Mom used to buy the big box) did the same thing. I'd temper the water first to get it to dissolve in her old toploader before putting in clothes. I do that with the SUP as well, or...

    Felt glide replacement question.

Rich: That's exactly the video we watched and knew we could do the repair ourselves. The only difference is mine has a rear control deck - so there was only one harness to disconnect. Allen: You dont have to remove the drum to get to the felt. Im waiting for the lower felt to be delivered...

    Felt glide replacement question.

Yes, its a Kenmore/Frigidaire dryer Mine has a small upper glide and large lower felt. Its model #41791052000. I tried to inspect the lower felt by trying to see it and feel around the gap. From the inside of the dryer it looked fine, but once we had the door off you could see there was...

    Felt glide replacement question.

Alignment I didnt mean in the center of the groove - I mean looking at it straight on (the full circle of the opening) having the top glide at say 10 o'clock/2 o'clock. The nylon glides on the felt was what came off - it was SO worn. Box? Ha, it came in a jiffy bag. OUTRAGEOUS! But...

    Felt glide replacement question.

Hi everyone! Well, we decided to do the glides on the dryer ourselves. Easy peasy to get the door off. However, I had thought the bottom felt was in good shape - and it IS on one side at least, and only ordered the top glide. Well, its not. It needs to be replaced - its very worn. My...

    Cleaning Products You Miss.....

Spic N Span powder. My Mom used that all the time. Nice scent and no real need for rinsing. I use Spic N Span in the bottle. Glass Wax. I still have 1/2 a can. Bought it about 15 years ago. Wanna laugh? In the winter I have used it to stencil my windows. I used a stenciling sponge with...

Sears Ultra Plus Stain-Fighting Formula Detergent

Cool! Thanks for the info. I dont use any detergent w/bleach added but its a good reminder. Do you add it right to the drum before you start the load or into the detergent dispenser?

Sears Ultra Plus Stain-Fighting Formula Detergent

Yep, Parsons ammonia - that's what Mom used. Is the ammonia safe to use in the front loader and wont cause any damage? How much would I use? Maybe I will try soaking items outside the machine in a bucket and rinsing them before throwing them in the machine. Would ammonia bother someone...

Sears Ultra Plus Stain-Fighting Formula Detergent

Todd: Ugh ammonia. My Mom used to use that to clean the bathroom and I couldnt breathe. I dont know if I could take the smell in the wash. I will keep it in mind however. Mike: LA's Awesome Oxygen Cleaner FTW! Ive been buying it at Dollar Tree. Glad youre pleased with the Sears detergent!

Sears Ultra Plus Stain-Fighting Formula Detergent

Andy I have a SQ AFN50R, so I cant really change the cycle time unless I let it go for about 10 minutes or catch before it drains, stop the machine and restart the cycle. I can try adding more detergent. I may have tried that with my old Kenmore, I dont remember. I tried spraying the shirts...

Sears Ultra Plus Stain-Fighting Formula Detergent

Ive been using Sears Ultra Plus detergent for about 12 years. I like the powder versions. I use the Perfume/Dye free and recently bought the green box when a local Sears hardware was closing its doors. There isnt a stain I havent been able to remove. It dissolves well and rinses very clean...

    Dryer balls

Wool dryer balls I made myself dryer balls out of 100% wool I bought at Michaels. I wound them about the size of a tennis ball and felted them. My loads dry more evenly, slightly quicker and it helps reduce static electricity. They dont sound very loud thumping around in the machine.
