Whats everyone's opinion on these? i put 4 in for every dryer load but im not sure if they are really working or just fake, I really can't see how they would emit steam as it says on the side of the package....

You mean ones you fill w/ water & put in the dryer to de-wri

I have one I got from my mom & wonder what she really saw in it?

She managed to bear w/ the thumpity-thump-to-loud banging and her dryer drum hasn't suffered a single mar or dent from it! Then again she'd told me to use a damp towel to get rid of wrinkles, which she'd mostly done, after the ball got used for its brief "trial period"...

I'm surprised that it's made from such a hard plastic instead of a softer rubber... My daughter was prone to playing w/ it & throwing it down on the floor trying to get it to bounce only to have long lost interest & leaving it on the shelf...

Wool dryer balls

I made myself dryer balls out of 100% wool I bought at Michaels. I wound them about the size of a tennis ball and felted them. My loads dry more evenly, slightly quicker and it helps reduce static electricity. They dont sound very loud thumping around in the machine.

I thought this was a thread about mesh underwear from the subject line....also thought, wrong forum?

who doesn't want dryer balls in the comming Summer months?.....

I have used tennis balls for drying blankets, like down comforters.....helps fluff everything back up....but thats about it...

The original ones were made for washers. They helped keep most items from tangling from being so vigourously agitated. Mostly by washers with the dreaded "Cruel Action"Agitators. They do the same in dryers as well as front loading washers.
