    Whirlpool Duet Dispenser motor bypass?

The problem is definitely in the motor itself. I might try disassembling that. Meanwhile, I just ordered another one. I was hoping that I could just disable the dispenser position check in the program somehow, but I'm guessing that would actually take a reprogramming of the computer. Too bad...

    Whirlpool Duet Dispenser motor bypass?

Sorry I wasn't specific :) it completely locks up the washer with error code "f13" and won't run again until the motor turns again.

    Whirlpool Duet Dispenser motor bypass?

Hello all. I've got a dispenser motor that is getting stuck and needs to be banged on about every other wash on my Duet (GHW9150PW1). Before I order a new one, I was wondering if it's possible to bypass it entirely? The dispenser itself is barely ever used and we could do without it. Just...

    Hotpoint rimflo handwash agitator removal

lol, interesting stuff. :) I ended up using a ratchet strap, axe handle, and a hammer and finally the agitator wiggled loose from the rubber spline adapter. Grr! Well I guess it's half a victory. I've been soaking it in Liquid Wrench and I even heated it with a torch but it's pretty solidly...

    A Convoluted Tale of 210 ° arc-cuate washing

Here it is! See what you think. It does look like somewhere around the 210 degree mark to me.

    A Convoluted Tale of 210 ° arc-cuate washing

This was bothering me too, because I thought for certain that my 2013 SQ only had a 180 degree arc, and maybe not even that. Turned out to be an optical illusion. I took a video with a high frame rate camera and put marks on the agitator. It definitely goes well beyond 180 degrees. Almost...

    Hotpoint rimflo handwash agitator removal

I know this is probably a stupid question, but humor me if you will. :) I just acquired a Hotpoint Rimflo with the handwash agitator, and I can't get the thing off. I took off the outer agitator, took the screw out of the top (although I'm not sure if that was necessary) of the handwash...

Replacing control panel on newer Speed Queen

Alright, I devised a work-around that works great for my family. A simple switch installed on the back of the control panel to switch from "normal" to "gentle". Which is a bit of a misnomer, since on the handwash cycle the motor will be running on high instead of low! But as seldom as the...

    WP Duet question

You may be surprised what's in there. Our duet had nails, stones, coins, a couple of combs and other odds and ends clogging it up once. Can't find any holes big enough, so the larger items had to have gotten there by some form of witchcraft.

Replacing control panel on newer Speed Queen

Hmm, well the main feature I would want to add is the ability to do a "gentle" wash aside from the handwash cycle. Perhaps I could just add a switch in a wire somewhere? I might try to figure out how to mod this thing. :)

Replacing control panel on newer Speed Queen

I have the AWN432. Wondering if it's possible to change out the control panel and "upgrade" the 432 to a 542. Am I crazy? Where could I get the control panel? Would it be worth it?

    GE Filter Flo agitator slipping

Got it. :) Convenience wins. Haha. Anyway, I gotta make sure it is fixed right for my baby nephew. He loves washing machines but this one is his favorite. Kindred spirits we are. Thanks for the link!

    GE Filter Flo agitator slipping

Yes, the splines are fine, sorry I don't have a photo at the moment, although the picture you linked to on ebay looks like mine. However, the metal cylinder slips and comes out of the rubber part. By the look of the picture, they are not supposed to be separate (?). Would it be okay to just glue...

    GE Filter Flo agitator slipping

Hi all, my FF agitator recently began slipping (the rubber coupling in the top of the agitator apparently is worn out so the metal cylinder slips inside the rubber), and I was wondering how far I should go in trying to fix it and how I should do it, or should I just replace it? There is one on...

New Speed Queen AWN542 owner here

I don't know why, but I feel the need to make a comment (congrats to the OP on the Speed Queen of course, I have one as well, in addition to a front-loader. They make a great team) about water usage. Just while driving to work yesterday I witnessed literally millions of gallons being shot out...

Speed Queen AWN542 - washing new jeans

tightening the spring on the Speed Queen I'd be interested in doing that as well, since my Speed Queen isn't super speedy to get up to speed when the load isn't perfectly balanced. However, I would be concerned about doing incremental damage to the transmission over the long term. Any expert...

Speed Queen AWN542 - washing new jeans

Dan (or anyone), I also posted a video of a Speed Queen washing jeans that you may perhaps be interested in seeing. Turnover isn't too impressive until you consider the fact that I actually had to stuff them down in a bit (but limited them to 9 pair). And they are pretty heavy duty. Probably...

Full flow solenoid - has anyone tried this?

There's a restrictor on both the hot and cold side of the valve. If I remember, I will post a picture later. It's a hard plastic disc with two tiny holes (basically pinholes) in it for water to flow through. I'm not sure of the age of this valve, but maybe I should look for an older valve where...

Full flow solenoid - has anyone tried this?

I'm not sure if there is an appropriate place on this forum to ask this, so I'll just put it in my favorite reading section. :) I saw some of ya'll talking about the washer solenoid valves and getting more water flow through them by drilling the enlarging the holes in the restrictors. I took...

    EPA 2013

I'm not sure where the best place to ask this is, but I've been trying to figure out when the new EPA regulations take effect and Speed Queen will have to start selling "broken" TL machines. Does anyone know?
