    shelf life of powdered detergents

How long is Tide powdered detergent really good for after date of manufacture both for opened and unopened boxes? I store them in a cool, dry place in zip freezer bags. The woman on Tide Chat said 6-9 months. I hope that is not true. Thanks

looking for unscented/low scent powdered laundry detergents that produce few suds

adapter sorry I didnt see one of your posts before I responded. My standpipe is not too small for the adapter that speed queen provides, rather the hole in the adapter for the drain hose is too small because I needed to have a drain hose extension installed and that involved replacing the...

wd40 Thanks, Tom. May I ask how far down you recommend wiping it as I read that WD40 repels water. Also is it recommended to remove the WD40 at some point?

unscented/low scent powdered laundry detergents that produce few suds

@littlegreeny No I have not tried the All free and clear; I have been trying to find out if that is low sudsing. The Tide doesnt seem to make many suds when I would look in the machine but the suds come out of the standpipe. Do you think All makes fewer suds than the Tide? I just read that...

Speed Queen Washing Machine- Suds/Bubbles after spinning

thanks, John Can I assume you meant to write "rag"? But wouldnt the weatherstripping or rag get wet and soggy from the foam?

looking for unscented/low scent powdered laundry detergents that produce few suds

I have an issue with suds coming out of my standpipe during the final spin using tide powder f and g. I use less than the recommended amount but it doesnt help and I cannot use the standpipe adapter that comes with my speed queen because it is too small for the drain hose extension that I had to...

Speed Queen Washing Machine- Suds/Bubbles after spinning

cleanteamofny's idea Wondering if anyone has successfully used cleanteamofny's trick of placing the weatherseal around the drain hose in the standpipe to prevent suds from coming out? I read a recommendation to not use use liquid detergent exclusively, but I find that the powdered that I am...

read the bottle Thanks, Maytagbear- So since there is an EPA reg No. on the bottle, it hopefully did something to prevent/kill mold?

used chlorox splashless bleach to "clean" washing machine

Thanks so much, DADoES I did 4 rinse/spin cycles. 3 rinses and spins using the wash cycle (I cancelled in between) using cool water, so those rinses were for 9 minutes each with the 4 minute 20 second low spin after each one. I followed that with a warm wash of about 5 minutes which I then...

used chlorox splashless bleach to "clean" washing machine

Read the bottle Thanks Maytagbear. I'm new to chlorine bleach so I'm pretty ignorant. Does it have to be able to "disinfect" in order to kill/prevent mold? There is an EPA reg No. on the bottle. That would be the only reason something like this has to be registered?

used chlorox splashless bleach to "clean" washing machine

splashless bleach Thanks, donprohel I did 4 rinses and it seemed like the suds were gone on the last one. So is there still a reason to use vinegar? Is it possible there may still be residue somewhere in the machine even though the suds are gone? (The rinses were with cool water, my next...

used chlorox splashless bleach to "clean" washing machine

clean washer cycle The Speed Queen does not have a designated clean washer cycle - they mention nothing about it in the manual. I had once asked Customer Service why nothing was written about it in their manual (while most other brand machines do) and they said to run a vinegar cycle every few...
