Ripon, Wisconsin: Home of Speed Queen back then, home of Alliance Laundry Systems (Speed Queen and Huebsch commercial laundry) today.

Ripon, WI is also the home of Rippin' Good cookies.

Atlanta had a chain of hardware stores by the name of King Hardware. They had a store in the shopping center by our house. Over the years, they sold several different brands of appliances. Our relatively small store usually had only one washer displayed. They displayed Philco Bendix, Speed Queen and in the early mid 60s, Frigidaire. There was probably a Highlander in the mix too. I got to lift the lid on the dispenser box of a SQ similar to this one.
