My 1975 Frigidaire GM 1-18----trips the breaker in a split second whenever the motor kicks in, so I removed it and cleaned and checked that out entirely, and even took apart the centrifugal switch and managed delicately to finally get it back together again. The motor and centrifugal switch seems fine. I left the belt off and tested agitation(CCW) and spinout/pump, CW, all seems fine with motor. And I tried high and low speed, too, in both directions, I really did re-assemble everything right and the motor seems fine. So I tried cranking various wheels by hand with the belt off, agitator up/down is fine, clutch/tub spin seems fine, but when I try hand cranking the pump, it only moves about 10 degrees in either direction. Seized pump? Should I check various plastic spring-loaded wheels first, or directly remove and inspect the pump? Motor back on with belt, and again the pump pulley moves a hair and stops everything.
Coolest machine on earth, despite my worst paint job, so I gotta get her up and running again.
