It appears that my long time friend, the 3-speed, reversing, 16" Lakewood window fan, has a frozen motor. Are these fixable? Replaceable? I think it is the same motor that was used in Patton fans (Patton was bought out by Lakewood, and Lakewood appears to no long make window fans that more than 6" and all plastic).

If there is a part number on the fan motor, Google it. That is how I found the fan motor for my Foodarama. My original fan motor was sealed and thus not repairable.

gummy bushings

probably a good cleanup and re-oiling of the bushings will get it turning again-sometimes just an oiling will do the trick-some can be stubborn though...

oil.

Those motors have small oil ports. They look like small dimples pushed outward with an open slit on the top just big enough for s Zoom Spout tube. If the motor is seized, oil the front and rear bearings with Zoom Spout and let it sit for a day or two, then repeat. It should free up as the bearings soak up the oil.
