1931 Easy Spin Dryer

Greg that is a really nice example of an early washing machine! You do not see too many of these anymore,let alone one in that condition. I love the 1930's green color,and the polished brass "washing arms". Did they go back and forth,or up and down?
Do be careful about too much use of a machine like this one. After all you have been liberated to the Automatic Era. Do not risk "scrubbing away your youth and beauty" by over use of a non-automatic machine such as this one! Please! There are easier wash days...

Hi Greg, I would love to see any videos you make.

I'm pretty sure this agitator was much more common in the 30's, before the gyrating agitator bacame popular. In one of the early "Little Rascals" shows, one of the Rascals is sitting atop an agitator in a washing machine while it is running. He seems to be going up and down, as well as around the tub. I wonder if they just made the action up, or if that was the true action of some washer agitators.

Pretty Easy

My brother snatched an Easy ringer out of my Grandmothers barn last summer, ( my dad was going to heave it) it may be close in age as it has the same wonderful green enamel; the conventional agitator that is very Kelvinator looking. Is the spinner cover disc on yours "weighted" ? About 22 years ago when I was living in SF there were a lot of Mom & Pop type
reconditioned appliance stores. I remember seeing an Easy
newer than yours, but very late 30's or early 40's perhaps with conventional agi , beautiful chrome strip vertical accents, very deco; It also had a hinged,locking spinner lid with a heavy thick disk; what a fool to not plunk down the $125.00!Yours is very handsome.
