1937 Maytag Model 32 Wringer Washer Gearbox Mechanism Removal?

Hello Everyone,

I am currently in the process of fully restoring my 1937 Maytag Model 32 Electric Wringer Washer. I have recently disassembled the gearbox in my machine to change out and replace the grease as well as to replace the gasket seals.


This is my first restoration on a vintage appliance so I have one or two things I don't really know about its design yet, however, I have learned lots about it so far.  I have made good progress on the restoration but I am currently having trouble figuring out how to remove some of the internal mechanisms on the machine or if the mechanisms are even designed to come out. I am unsure of this because some of the mechanisms appear to be fastened in with some sort of pin. I have tried to remove them several times but I am unsure if they are either rusted in place or if they even designed to come out in the first place.

 

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Glad to share my experience...

I restored a Model 32 last year, having had previous experience on the Model 30 (which used the same power unit.) The three pieces I did not remove were the worm screw, gear with eccentric on top, and the pinion gear shifter yoke. I didn't deem it necessary, as they were in fine shape and I could clean the old grease from out around them.
