Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on a Westinghouse fridge model #H-3-39-E. This is the vintage with the big wheel up front below the refrigerated space that has several pre-set stops to control the temperature.

Lately, the fridge just goes dead but fiddling with the control unit or giving it a tap will get it to kick in. I pulled the control mechanism and see no problems or loose wires/connections, but for the time being this fridge can't be trusted to keep running. The compressor seems fine and the whole thing runs normally for a week or two at a time before conking out again.

If anyone has any knowledge on this type of control unit I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to isolate the problem, or referrals to other on-line resources to help me resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Ralph

I am also looking for a small trim piece for this refrigerator if anyone has access to one for parts.
