Someone's gonna need an awfully big bottle of Jubilee for that thing. I think you could find something in the scrap heap in better condition.
 
I don't know the significance of the Christmas 1940 edition other than an advertising gimmick GE came up with at the end of the year. It looks like the same fridge as a regular 1940/41 GE. I have an emblem I pulled off of one that was in a field on its back with a small tree growing up through it. Would be a neat fridge to find in good shape though. The emblem specifically dates it and they are pretty uncommon.
 
I've seen Frigidaire ads from the late Thirties encouraging people to buy a new fridge as a Christmas present and have a personalized engraving added to the badge. The suggested wording was something like "To Mother/ Christmas 1936." In other words, a sales gimmick they tried for several years.

It would have been a welcome present for someone still struggling with an icebox, for sure.
