1950s Kitchen Untouched for over 50 Years

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

These photos have shown up somewhere else in another thread or two.  And one cannot forget the "modern" dishwasher in the midst of everything else that hasn't been updated.

The rest of the story....

The clueless clown ripped this kitchen out and replaced it with "Lady Depot" crap.  If you have the stomach for it, here's the original thread with lots of links....

But once they buy it, they can do whatever they want with it

I was afraid of this while I was replying on the Vacuumland site, but I didn't voice my concerns because I've been mistaken before. Yeah, a pox on people who get a pristine MCM property, claim to "love" retro, and then proceed to do their interpretive dance on how to recreate 1956, etc with sparkling new "much better" 2015 deluxefabulouswonderful appliances, counters, flooring. Blecch.

So and so buys a nearly mint, or easy restoration 1960 car. Proceeds to replace the engine, drive train, repaint it candy apple red, lowers it and puts on donk wheels, puts in dash CD sound system with big speakers, and then brags how much he loves old things.

It's forbidden to say such things on the RetroRenovation site, no matter how horrified we are. I'm sure that hasn't gone unnoticed. Granted, it is her right to run her forum as she desires.

I agree wholeheartedly

If you all will remember, it wasn't too many years ago when fine Victorian homes and buildings were torn down in droves...now they are protected as historical landmarks...I wonder how much mid century history has to be lost before people wise up...when its destroyed its gone!
