Oh dear oh dear oh dear

So this lovely Wilkins Servis twin tub washer from the 1950s has turned up on Ebay Australia in Maylands W.A, literally 15 mins down the road from me.

Oh god how I want to bid on it. I really really do. Its a gorgeous machine but as i know nothing of the mechanics of these machines, i probably wouldn't be able to fix it if it didn't work. The owner thinks it still works but is not sure. It looks in great nick.

I think i could accommodate it, as we have a huge shed i could 'hide' it in and then possibly use the outdoor hosepipe and drain to fill and use the machine. My only thing would be is a 'heater' option? not sure if it would have one, it does have a temp gauge there i think...

It would be great to have tho, think i could con someone into picking it up for me as no way is it going to fit into my 2007 Mazda 2 hatchback.....

What do you guys reckon, UK guys, your opinion plus any knowledge on this machine is greatly appreciated...

Thanks

Matty

It`s Got....

Mattys name on it...go on you know you need it...!!!

Its the first model, and looks like it was shipped from the UK before the Aus plant was in production to make them...makes it even rarer, its from 1959 and has the thermostat on the front, also the "Wilkins Servis" badge...it dont get much better Matt...Wash, Boil, Rinse & Spin...

Cheers, Mike

Matty...

...I'd be using 'Auction Sniper' or one of those if you aren't....

...it'll help keep the bids realistic and you can then 'set and forget' if you've not used one before...

PM me if you need any help....

Hi Matt,
Nice machine..and is as Mike says "first model from 1959" I saw that it has a temp gauge, however the indicator light looks like it has been blanked off, so not sure if it has the heater.
Happy bidding !!
Keith
