Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

LOL..  We saw that GE "Partio Cart" at the estate sale for $400, if memory serves me correctly.  The person who bought it presumably went back the second day, or put a bid in for it.   He used to run a resale shop which recently closed.  The price he is now asking is ridiculous.

Holy cow!  I saw one of those in an old magazine once.  It was in a feature article about ultimate "California style" living.  I had no idea there was one in existence in this part of the country.

Fred is right

Robert, Fred and I did see this cart at an estate sale in a western suburb last winter. It belonged to the original owner of Cashway Furniture. Price was very high at the sale - $800. Person who got it was a St. Paul dealer who got it for $300 and was later trying to sell it for $1700 in his shop. It was in great shape but not worth what this person is asking. This thing is HUGE.

Date

I've seen those before, but never in the flesh. Unique idea, for sure. But I think the seller has the date incorrect. This baby is based on the "Mark 27" drop-in range and those were introduced either in 1960 or (more likely) 1961.

You are correct Pulltostart. These were introduced in June 1960. I have the service manual with schematic and wiring diagrams should anyone need a copy.

GE PARTO-CART

WOW another one in unused condition and complete with the correct umbrella. Fred I can't believe that you guys saw this and didn't buy it at $400.00, I would gladly buy at least two more of these for my other houses. I think the asking price is not that unreasonable when you consider how well made this and how well it performs. Just look at what you have to spend for these new monster gas grills that will be at the scrap yard in a decade or so.

This is a Great appliance it gives you a large cooking and serving area with convince outlets and lighting, dual rotisseries, great oven, thermostatically controlled griddle 6" & 8" HI-Speed Calrod surface elements. And the whole thing rolls easily away in to the garage when you are done. It is far less expensive to use than using propane to say nothing of being safer. Think of what you would spend to build and outdoor kitchen that could do what what this one does. I would agree that the price is too high if it was some rusty worn out appliance that needed major work, but this thing is very well built. The other year we were using it for a cook-out and a major thunder storm hit use while we were eating and it didn't faze this thing at all we didn't even have a chance to disconnect the power.
