I am selling my Maytags. I have had them since 2019. They have served me well, but we are not repairmen. I am still using both, but they are needing some TLC and we are tired of fiddling with them.
The good, they still look the same as when I got them.
The bad, the washer needs fill valve work. It only fills on warm and hot. The dryer takes 80 - 90 minutes to dry.
I had posted a thread about them on this site in 2019, if you want to look them up.
I have video clips of both operating.
I am asking $400 obo for the pair you pick up.
I am located in Missouri and willing to deliver in a certain radius for a cost that would have to be worked out.

If the dryer is taking 80 to 90 minutes to dry, either the venting is restricted or the high limit thermostat is getting weak.

Good job, Melvin!! When are you starting that new building?

Robin thanks for wanting these to go to a good home and allowing me to have them shipped. I’m grateful.

Kenny I’ve been looking hard at the logistics of the new showroom.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. What a great example of Maytag history.

I guess I need to ask, are you a museum type of guy? Everyone seems to know you well.
I happen to have them packed very well for you. I put all of the info and sprinkler inside of the washer.
Just promise not to laugh too loud when you see the cartons they are shipped in ( you will understand when you see them). It was either get rid of the w/d or get rid of the hubby. I had to keep the hubby, your gain, hehe.

Is the paperwork in a ziplock bag? Sometimes when the washer is tipped over to be moved the paperwork gets soaked from water remaining in the machine. I know from experience. Lol! I do hope to have a showroom one day as I have many cool vintage machines.

Sorry Barry, you can’t make up anything you like and claim it’s a fact you have an obvious bias toward the things you’d like and that’s fine but don’t tell other people that they’re lying. The facts are on my side.

These GE dishwasher clean fine if you just put dishes in them, but if you put pots and pans and bowls, they did not clean in the corners of the upper rack. That’s the reason no dishwasher in the world still has a pop-up tower in the middle of the lower rack on a serious machine at least.

Consumer reports only tests dishwashers with dishes in them. They almost never tried of mixed pots and pans bowls etc. with dishes.

Whirlpool never used a shaded pole motor in a dishwasher. Whirlpool also never put a crappy drain valve in with a seal that leaks and ruined thousands of floors.

We still replace pump and motor assemblies in GE dishwashers every month.

1959 turquoise Maytag pair

Great save Melvin. These look like they’re in great shape, this is a perfect pair for a serious collector. That’s for sure.

I can see where these would not have made the best daily driver machines today. Some improvements have been made since 1959 in laundry appliances,

John

wrong post

Yes, Whirlpool did use a shaded pole motor. I suggest you look at their literature. There is no excuse for your not knowing that.

You went from saying GE tower washes couldn't clean in the corners period to now they can't clean pots and pans and bowls in the corners. Keep making up different iterations as you go along, John. Everyone knows you fabricate when reality doesn't match the false image of reality that you attempt to create...The pseudo-reality that supports your personal biases. Your arguments are not even logical now, a bowl presents a greater surface area to water and is a lesser challenge than a narrow glass. Anyone on this site who has ever owned a tower wash knows your statement is an outright lie. But it matters not if you are logical or not in your denigrations, as your words come of your neuroses.

Your modus operandi is to make your opinions seem as facts when they are nothing more than opinions.

Why did you even need to comment on this original post? You got jealous because Bob complemented the GSD 1200 and you can't stand it. If anyone puts out praise for virtually anything but a Whirlpool dishwasher you just can't handle it emotionally. You are an adult, deal with your childish emotional issues on your own time and quit disrespecting others on this site who opinions are differing from yours.
