A little over a year ago, I saw this ad for a 1960 Frigidaire Imperial Dryer on Facebook Marketplace. They seller was asking $700 for it at the time. Shortly after then, he dropped the price to $500. After it being at $500 for a couple of months, I messaged him and offered him $300 for it. He turned me down. I continued to wait and watch. Couple of months ago, he again dropped the price, down to $250 now. I waited a little more. Last week I made my move and offered him $200 for it. He accepted my offer. Last Thursday I drove 360 miles roundtrip (7 hours) to acquire the dryer. As soon as I got home with it, I got it down to the basement (by myself) and plugged it in. It still works very nicely. It has the "Sprinkler" for it. I haven't tried to add any water to it as of yet.
The seller said that he had gotten the dryer from the original owner, several years back. He said that the original washer was already long gone.

Wow congratulations Justin. That is such a rare dryer.

It is so rare to see you vented Frigidaire dryer from the late 50s into the early 60s except for the filtrator dryers which was a much more rugged dryer.

The filtrator dryers were not only more rugged, but they were kind of Problematic to use so people tended not to use them and I think a lot of them lasted a long time as a result.

The vintage dryers like this were not very rugged and if they weren’t matched with a fast spinning Frigidaire washer, they definitely never made it past 10 or so years of household use.

Now to find the washer that matches it.
