1960s in the box Suzy Homemaker Dishwasher and Washer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I had both of these as a child

Much to my father's chagrin I asked for both of these for Christmas in 1968.

Washer : Sold one piece tub and agitator forerunner of the Skinny Mini, actually agitated and would spin ( manual push button controls) There was a bellows device for the "jet action " feature that really did not work that well. Remembering the mechanics of it, very complex engineering for a toy

Dishwasher: Impeller model, was not "splashy" at all , I was disappointed.

I got the Super Oven for my birthday, who knew a 100 watt bulb would bake a cake. The door would lock until the oven and cake cooled.

I love this commercial " with Suzy Homemaker you are the "queen" of your home " lol

I must confess...

I asked Santa for both of these in 1962.  My dad and oldest sister raised hell but since I had emergency surgery the week before Christmas that year Santa brought me these.  Yes, I loved them and would give a king's ransom to have mine back!  For years my oldest sister would call me Suzy.

I had the whole kitchen/laundry, including the blender, and I think there was a mixer as well.....all the cake kits from my Easybake oven worked for these units...and we thought it was a big deal to mix Kool-Aid in the blender....happy little homemakers we were....

don't get me wrong....I also had Tonka trucks to play with outside.....had to create dirty clothes somehow.....

actually I washed all my socks in that washer.....

you can find the "My Little Kenmores" at Kmart.....buts its just basically a cardboard box....not the same as functional SuzyHomemaker stuff....kids today don't know what their missing....

Let's see, so far the Suzy Homemaker collection goes as follows: One full-size washer, complete with cover and box; one full-size washer, no box, missing cover. One smaller version of washer with box. Sink/dishwasher combo, no box. All three sizes of the stove (with boxes). Blender (in original box).

I need help!

I have my sister's dishwasher in the basement. It looks like new and, as stated above, was a great disappointment; a few drops of water thrown on the see thru part of the door. I bought it for her, surprise, surprise.
