I've seen a few belt drive outer tubs like this and was able to save them. Make sure to be very careful on sliding the tub off the center post. Once removed cut the doughnut seal in several pieces, rather than trying to pull it off whole. The lip that seals against the doughnut seal is the critical surface to leave in tact. Otherwise, if there are no holes and the integrity of the metal seems to be even and sound throughout the outer tub, coat it with some POR-15 and you should be good to go.
