Bad Info in CL Ad, I Think!

The ad states this Americana was built for only one year, 1962-63.

I know for certain it was available in '66, because that year's House Beautiful featured it.

These as a kid, didnt see too many though, we had two GE dealers in my hometown so there was a large number of GE appliances sold, the freezer looks great but the Fridge is kind of small, still, it sure is nice!

Ya, I think it was 65 or 66 that these were available. I have the same fridge, even in the same color. Use it as my beer/soda fridge.

1962 World's Fair

That would be the one that gave us the Space Needle.

 

The New York World's Fair offered the Unisphere, back in 1965.

 

The seller got dates right, but the fair wrong.

 

Justin (countryford) has this same coppertone Americana on his patio in Phoenix.

A white one!!!!

I have a white one with blue snowflakes inside,and lots of lighting.White formica work area with gold vein,and lights behind that.Great big freezer,bur a shallow top section.Runs quiet as a mouse,its in the garage and quite heavy.I think the Americana stove and this share the same shell! Bobby

The New York World's Fair I think ran 64' & 65' I believe. The Ford Mustang was introduced at this fair as a 64-1/2 model. I certainly was a hit too.
