Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Fredrik

The owner isn't a member yet, although I am trying to convince him.

There was a pretty shot at (externally anyway - looked appalling in the ebay pictures) 3224 Keymatic on ebay UK recently and he snapped it up for 99p! Well he has had it working, with water and spinning.

However he needs door seals for his slanted Keymatics. If anyone knows where there is a supply of door seals/boots for 3224 and 3226 Keymatics, please let me know. The one he used on his recent 3224 was a 'modified' Hoover New Wave seal, just to ensure there wasn't water ingress to the electrics.
He also owns an earlier 3224 purchase, again which has a perished door seal and recently purchased a 3226, which was pretty much on his doorstep!

I will keep working on him to join - when he does, he can tell you all about them himself.
Cheers
paul

Congratulations

Hi Riccardo, really enjoyed the video, one of the best seen with all the pics n stills, You have made a grand restoration of a timeless classic, love the bowed front, ( interesting what goes around, comes around again, think Electrolux)

What type of motor does this use?? does it have brushes/carbons??

Enjoy, Mike

for Rijk and for Foraloysius

Hallo Rijk
I'm Carlo another Italian Candy lovers

now for Foraloysius
I have scanned some old instruction books and one of these I think is the user instruction for the washer of your childhood.
When I've read your post, I understand that, probably, Candy SAM Super-A-matic was the washer you describe I have an old user manual of this machine, is in italian, but I post it for you and for all of us that are interested.

Carlo

Fantastico!

GRAZIE RAGAZZI!

Non credevo assolutamente fossero esistite lavatrici così qui in Italia...

Però...mi fa strano scrivere in italiano qui su Automaticwasher...

Io non so voi...ma qui ci sono da quasi dieci anni...e ora sono in ottima compagnia!

GRAZIE!

PS: for you english speaking friends I've just said to the autors of the restoration what wonderful job they did! THANK THEM!

That's a very nice Candy washing machine you've restored, it looks great! I enjoyed watching the vid of it as well! It's got a nice method of washing and the water levels are also good. More vids please! I wonder what your next restoration project will be, another Candy or something different? I liked the old ads too!

Update

Dear friends,
I've recorded a new video of my A3 washing, without the top and the back panel to see how she looks inside.

Enjoy!
Ric.

Riccardo SEI UN MITO!!!!

Grazie! Chissà quando e se riuscirò a fare lo stesso della mia Ignis... tu praticamente l'hai rifatto anche tutta dentro...io cerco solo di rimetterla in funzione e finora ho già fatto ben 4 riparazioni!!!!

Thaks! I really wish to do the same with my Ignis!

Another wonderful video. Thank you!

Now that I've seen the interior I must conclude that my mothers first washer was rather different. The outer tub was a different construction and I can't remember the tensioning wheel on the belt drive.

Oh and the vent! You need a separate vent when you don't have a detergent dispenser. I had completely forgotten about that but now I remember that my mothers machine had one too, but it was located on the back of the machine.
