Nice!  But the line 'I was told the condensor coils need cleaning for this to cool properly' makes me fearful that there's a bigger issue....

Yeah, that should have the full length condenser up the back. That thing would have to be packed solid, not likely.

The price is right for “coils need to be cleaned/just needs a recharge”.

IMO, this is one of the best looking refrigerators ever made.

Mid 60s Frigidaire Refigerators

Are some of the most beautiful refs ever and some had the early cool convoy belt IMs, FD called it AIS              [ Automatic Ice Service ] These neat IMs put the cubes into a door mounted bin even on top freezer models.

 

  The problem wit these 60s FD refs is they did not age well, it is very rare to find one with a good sealed system, they also suffer with defrost problems particularly bottom freezer models. GE and WP built refs seem to have a much better chance of working properly or at least being able to be fixed.

I agree that:

 

1) The problem likely is more complex than a dusty condenser.  Nice try, seller.

 

2) As beautiful as they may be, these refrigerators aren't as reliable as GEs and Whirlpools in their advanced age.

 

It's a shame to view this fridge as a parts donor, but for $50 it's worth that to someone who has the room for it.

The other main problem with Frigidaires of this age is the defrost heaters hang up and then melt all the plastic parts inside i have seen so many ruined because of this personally i wouldnt have any frost free fridge defrosting is easy, they cost much less to run and keep food much better
