Didnt notice

the burner layout when I looked at ad. In a way I think more accessible.

Odd burner layout, must not have been too popular. Hotpoint sure had some pretty ranges in this time.

Does anyone remember the slide-in range from this era with the second oven or warming oven above? I saw a turquoise one at an estate sale once, tons of chrome with this same pattern embossed on the glass doors. It was lit up like a holiday store window and just sparkled. A couple of weeks later, it was behind Lowes, smashed to ruination, obviously thrown off the truck.

I think I could probably live with the burner arrangement. Actually, I know I could, because I seldom need more than 2 burners at a time, anyway. But I think the control design would drive me crazy quickly.

Hotpoint Drop In..

These were very good ranges, but they were not as convienent as the Compact 30 Frigidaire with the staggered units and all the controls up front.

Diamond pattern burners

My favourite arrangement! It's very convenient if using two large pots together!
You can use two smaller ones with ease but I can't stand the rear controls! You have to put your hands over hot pans and burners to switch or turn off the heat!

Diamond pattern

But if you're using two large pots how do you get at the back burner.  Heck if you're using all 4, granted not many do, it just seems like somethings going to be in the way of something.

I'll show you how once I get back home where I have a diamond pattern cooktop! :)
Just love it!

And while using 4 burners at the same time in a traditional set-up you will have two pans in front of the back ones, in this case will be only one!
