Hello I'm restoring a 1966 GE Frost Guard Refrigerator. I have replaced the compressor, but need to find a replacement for the Hot Gas Solenoid coil/valve. I could not find a part number. Any one know what would work, and where to find one? Thanks

I don't know if you can access the "Super Searchalator" option without an upgraded membership, but that would provide the option to search both the term and limit the search to a specific member's posts.  Otherwise, at top right on the index page is a search field.  Type in "hot gas" or whatever and then you'll have to sift through the various threads that display.

Ugh, I can't type!

I'm sorry I misspelled combo52's screen name. Feel really dumb.

John provided me with the details on that valve when I was working on one of those fridges locally last year. I was unable to locate that exact valve, and used another alternative, which I also can't locate the details of. The one John recommends is better because it requires no modifications. The one I used required some modifications.

Sadly now I can't locate our correspondence with the part number. The threads I found don't seem to have the info. It may have been a phone text which I don't have access to any longer.

Again apologies for the misspelling.

Beautiful! That's the model I have. You may like to see my threads on it.

Based on the trim, I think Tim's refrigerator is a '64 or '65 model, rather than a '66. The handle design on Louie's machine was used for the '66 & '67 models. In '68, the handles were changed to the woodgrain type, which were used for several years.

Tom, you are right. I was thinking about the '64 that I also have.

Thanks circle. I was just going by a rubber stamp I found on the back 66. Probably referred to something else. Still trying to figure out a fix for the hot gas solenoid.
