1969 dodge charger

This is another find..It has the same knobs as a dodge charger car so i call it that..It fills okay and than it washes but it does not want to drain or spin ….It seems to wash okay and the water seems to fill to level.. but nothing on the spin not even motor running and the pump looks good but ????? anybody have any ideas..You half to know Im new to this but want to restore these machines…I love them…Im in dark with most electric and try to figure it out...

Wow, that's odd for a Whirlpool - the motor usually runs continuously as it shifts from agitate to spin.  Is the timer advancing normally during wash?  Does the machine stall at the neutral drain?   If so, does the timer continue to run? Does this happen at the end of the wash phase only or does it also happen at the end of the rinse phase of the cycle also? 

 

My gut feeling would be that there is a timer issue - possibly bad contacts...

Wirlpool washer

We had that same model when I was a youth. It could be the lid switch. These would fill and agitate with the lid open but would not spin. Jeff
