1970’s Whirlpool washer and dryer (Brady Bunch)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That washer is in great shape for its age and the center post is amazingly clean. This machine will last you many years of regular use after the rebuild that you are doing to it. Since you have gone this far I would replace the top center post and spin tube seals.

Whirlpool Quintessential Music

Mission accomplished for now. Music to my ears...hearing the legendary Quintessential Whirlpool sound! New tub seal, spintube seal and centre post seal. Applied Industrial sealant 800 to the significant rust. Who knows I might luck out find another Whirlpool Belt Drive washer for parts with my name on it. Fortunately, I had another newer grey tub from a Kenmore Washer (slightly better condition than the original tub).

I managed to get the washer up and running - for now. Just need to replace the leaky pump and magic clean filter.

Next project will be the older 1960's Inglis washer...
