Awesome Washer

I grew up with a 68 Filter Flow so I love that design, and I hope to find one like it some day. I remember my dad rebuilding the drive system and showing me all the small brake like pads in there. Thanks for posting those, the lid mechanism is really amazing.

Matthew!

Absolutely stunning. I love it when someone takes excellent care of their machines.

Your machine is perfect in every way. It's so great you know all of its eccentricities and details and keep the Dispensall system running as it was meant to.

Thank you for the photos.

That is a beautiful washer.

"  The Bleach dispenser as it was originally designed - in the tank - is constantly getting clogged with lint. I noticed on John Lefever's Dispensall that his is a later model and the bleach dispenser is simply a ramp that diverts it into a separate tank that had a solenoid timed release. This makes more sense but kinda makes the whole lid dispenser concept seem silly, when you consider that they offered all of these dispensers in various other ways in previous models that probably worked better. The solenoid release Fabric Softener dispenser couldn't have been so great though considering how quickly they get clogged."

I was wondering if there was a design change.   I had the later model that had that reservoir in the base of the machine.  It too would clog though, but because it was permanently mounted, it was harder to clean.  Much like Kenmore's Triple dispenser, if they had used FRESH water to dispense, it would have been cleaner and would  probly have lasted longer.

General Electric

They should go back to making quality appliances instead of todays junk. This washer design is truly unique! My father had this machine and it lasted for twenty years without a single repair.
