Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Pete, thanks for the great pics. Can't wait to blow up the ads so I can read the copy. My first Litton was bought in 1978, closeout and it was $499, a floor model. 1.5 cu. ft. meal-in-one, mechanical timer. Lasted 20+ years. Now, ya covered everything from agitators to "nuts", but no dishwashers??? ugh.

Mystery Date

Thanks for the reminder, Jeff. Here you are--and I'll take one dud to go, please!

I hate to tell 'em, but they put the silver ware basket in the wrong place. It's not a KitchenAid. Talk about wasting dishasher rack realestate space!!! It has a specified space going front to back on the right 1/3 of the bottom rack. I had a Westinghouse in an apartment in 1976. From right to left, go in 3 rows of tines and there's a wide open space to cradle the basket front to back and then all the rows of tines from that point on left, around the fixed tower in the rack, on over to the left. Loaded with dinner plates to the right of the silverware basket and smaller plates and bowls just to the left of the basket, all the rest of the wide open space on the left plus putting some stuff on top of small plates, I could BobLoad that machine for usre and everything came out clean, surprisingly to me too.

I loved those Westinghouse dishwashers of the late 1960s with the time-line cycle status display in the middle of the control panel and it was backlit too.

Hey Pete, I too had a thang for mustache guy. I remember him from the Sears catalogue. He must have been doing Eatons and Sears at the same time, what a tramp.

> That dud looks like one stud to me. Woo hoo!!! <

Oh yes, some of the duds were the best. Although Mr. Dance Guy was always the top prize. He had money and showered regularly.

My aunt has a Westinghouse all pushbutton dishwasher from the late 70s that hasn't been used in 20+years. I used to load it all the time when I was young and she would have parties. I used to love the sound of the rapid advance.
