Range suddenly started flashing error F2 with loud beeping. Had to unplug it to stop. Any ideas? It is a gas range and electric panel. Also, anyone have any idea of the model/ model number, I believe it is from approx 1987.
....designed and built range.
I had a double wall oven (electric) with that same electronic control for the top oven.
Most likely, the digital control unit (board) needs repair.
There is a place they can be sent to for repair which has been mentioned on this forum in the past.
Replacements are not available new but it may be possible rebuilt ones are out there somewhere.
For me, it meant turning off the power to the ovens and buying a new Kitchenaid double oven.
Good luck!
It's most likely the controller/circuit board,,,,,, BUT,,, it sometimes can be a weak gas valve and/or ignitor.
If the controller doesn't see the proper resistance/amp draw from the gas valve ignitor combo it'll set a code.
The board is probably unobtanium but the gas valve, ignitor, and pressure regulator is probably available.
Repairs on a unit like that are a crapshoot at best,,,,, BUT you "could" get lucky..
