Here is the Maytag that replaced my KitchenAid KDS-18A.
It's still going strong after 15 years.
I did have to replace the gasket around the detergent dispenser latch last year as water was leaking (just a bit) onto the floor during a cycle.
Other than that, no problems - DEPENDABILITY PLUS!

Very cool dishwasher.
You don't see this model around that much anymore. Timer versions during this period yes, but not electronic control. Nice that it has served you so well.
Also like your Pfaltzgraff Village Canisters! I am a Pfaltzgraff nut.

Wonderful!

A very nice dishwasher indeed! Be careful, I had to shoot one similar (DWU9921) recently due to a power spike taking the board and the replacement was nla... Whirlpool and their policy of discontinuing parts for machines not that old IS getting old...

Around that era Maytag diswashers were definitely made to last. We had a 1993 that was built so solid, you could probably stand on the door when it was open. It was a MOL machine, but I am positive that it is still operating today.
And it cleaned the dishes very well.

This model has a standard 'dishes on the bottom cups up top' configuration with a jump up two piece tower. This would mean that the lower rack has a raised area to clear this tower when pushed in...
