bad luck

Sorry to hear of all your probs there Malcolm, as I stated when I started the post I have had these since new, they have had NO probs at all, work perfect just like the day I got them.....I also remember chatting with the sales person and was told these are solid state boards, and the moisture dosen't affect them much at all......maybe this is the new models am not sure.......all I know they have been trouble free and still are......
thanks for posting tho, glad the amana set is still working too.....

For sale

I have the same set as in the comments. They work great. Only issue I've ever had was the lid switch replaced. I am renovating my laundry room and selling my set. Not sure how much to ask for them. Note its electric dryer.

Triple action agitator

Does the triple action agitator on your washer goes up and down as it should? I’ve spotted some videos on YouTube showing them and they don’t do anything different a dual action does. In fact, the only video showing true triple action is from a member of this forum and it is totally awesome.
I spotted some triple action agitator 90 series on Craigslist with regular timer knobs, but stills makes me wonder if they work as they should and if not, how can you make them do the triple action again?

the Triple Action is nothing more than a gimmick, while the theory is that it goes up and down while turning, actually not quite.....if under a load for the ratchet to happen, all it does is lift while pushing the load downwards, and stay in the upper position until the unit drains, and then returns to the lower seated position...

a lot of times they get stuck, or gummed up...or depending on which internal design...can come loose....never a bad idea to install new dogs, and clean and lubricate to get it back in working order....

the only advantage to the newer design of the PLUS or TRIPLE ACTION, is the slanted vanes of the auger....that would be a beneficial addition to the first designed units...

it you want to add something with kick, install the KitchenAid larger base agitator to your unit...

I had a 2000ish Kenmore 90 Series...

...but with electromechanical controls rather than the electronic touchpad. It also had a Triple Action agitator. With small and medium loads, the upper part of the agitator did move. It didn't work well with heavy blankets and the like.
It came with the house when my wife and I bought it four years ago, I replaced it with a Kenmore front load out of personal preference, though there are times I miss it.

Semi related: Up until five years ago, my aunt had the identical set that I did, only her dryer was gas and she swore she bought hers in 1997. I told her she couldn't have because Kenmore still had the old logo (set as a backdrop of my posts here) and the 1980s style control panel (same design but not black and woodgrain) until 1998. Only a year's difference but I think I'm right. She told me she'd find her receipt to prove me wrong, she hasn't found it yet LOL.

Unplug your power cords after using

Someone told me this due to the boards shorting out from a power surge during a storm but they may have power surge protectors idk but I unplug mine to be safe

Do you still have them

Hello, do you still have them working?

The washer needs dogs, lid switch and the off button on the control panel does not respond. The dryer works fine--Joe
