Mike, I don't know if it has any relation to Alex's comment above ... but Kirk Rivas of Appliance Associates in Austin TX said in the live chat on a video dated 9/9/2021 that SQ told him that they are focusing on TR7 and TC5, so TR5 and TR3 will be difficult to find and frontloaders even moreso.[this post was last edited: 9/17/2021-09:10]

Replaced lid hinge pads.

I can't think of anything else that would need checking/replacing on this machine. I opened up the water pump, it was perfectly clean.

To be honest while I am happy with the Speed Queen, this Kenmore has a bigger capacity and far more wash options. The Heavy Duty cycle is specially impressive. The only thing I think the Speed Queen has is a superior spin speed.

Warm Rinse

We had a 98 Kenmore DD that did not have ATC and it would do the true warm rinses. My grandparents' 99 Kenmore DD with ATC would always do the 75ºF warm rinse even if non-ATC was selected. The switch to the cooler warm rinses occurred somewhere in that time frame. Just glad we didn't have a machine that limited the warm rinse temps, or was an energy star model with really low wash temps.

I had a similar Kenmore but older before this console came out.
Before my Kenmore I had a GE Filter Flo.
Now I’ve had SQ for the last 13 years.

I thought I needed that fast chugga chugga agitation in order to get big loads clean.
I prefer the agitation of the SQ or Filter Flo. / Ramped agitator.
Much less twisting and easier on clothing.
I think you’ll grow to enjoy it in time as it has similar agitation, maybe a bit more aggressive than your Maytag.

Hey Mike,

I have to agree, clothes would sometimes come out terribly twisted and tangled. Another great feature the Kenmore had was it's "Hand Wash" cycle. Ultra slow agitation, slow spin. I have no regrets with the Speed Queen. Just going to take a bit to get used to.
