From what I understand...

I was under the impression that the cooling fan was built on the back of the main pump motor.

I had a 1999

Whirlpool Gold, with the old large motor and pump module.
It seemed a bit louder as it approached 11 years old. That's about the time the control board became stuck on normal cycle.
Can't really complain for $400. Spent double that in 2011 in addition to an entire new kitchen.

Yours must have a single pump. Mine has a dual pump.

in 1999. Reversed for pump out.
