Howdy! I tested out the soak/prewash cycle on my new speed queen 412.
It fills with water then stops. Does not agitate or do anything.
I did tweak it to fill up just below last set of holes. Would that have affected anything? It's under warranty but just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong before calling. The other cycles work okay. Any ideas?

It's ok

the machine is not supposed to initailly agitate during pre-soak, adjusting to the water level doen not affect the machine's timer function.

when rotating the control knob, try putting the little indicator arrow just a little bit past the mark where it should be, I have to do that when I select heavy on the wash cycle or it will fill than just sit there.

According to the manual:

During the SOAK/PREWASH setting, the washtub will fill
with water, agitate for a reduced period of time,
pause for approximately 12 minutes, and spin out
to complete the cycle.

Thanks for the replies. It only fills with water then nothing. I guess I'll call for repair, hopefully they won't harass me if they notice the increased water level.

Billiedyer is right, try setting the timer dial over just a bit more, sometimes this happens to me to, the machine will fill, but not agitate is the timer is not exactly over far enough to the right. No one is gonna even notice the higher water level, don't worry.
