Interesting.....
....To contrast this range's styling with the competing Frigidaire in another thread.
While beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, I have to say I prefer this range's looks to the GM effort. GM has always been very good at styling things for the moment, but they're not as good at creating things that still look good years later. Their bulbous, chrome-bedizened early-'50s cars were ludicrous when contrasted with the lean, crisp Fords, Mercuries and Lincolns of the same years. I will say that GM's 1955 efforts were better than what went immediately before (at least until you got to Cadillac), with the Chevrolet being a true classic.
This GE is much cleaner and easier on the eyes than the Frigidaire range, at least to me.
