Looks like a '55, and they're charging over 5 times what it's worth even though it's actually in nice shape and has all of its parts -- including the meat pan.
I'm not certain if exterior colors were optional or special order in 1955, or whether turquoise was among the choices. My guess is that Cadet Blue came along on GE appliances before any turquoise shade did.
Dream on. I've got one exactly like it including the meat pan. Was high bidder on it on Ebay about seven years ago at $11.50. Got a another one for free that was found three miles from home.
Even though both of them work the one I got nearby I would actually consider a good parts donor. I plan on using the other one in the future. Keep looking on CL. Nice vintage two doors come up often enough you should be able to find one. [this post was last edited: 12/23/2016-14:02]
I have a mid 50's GE single door, smaller one, that would probably go well in a Spartan trailer. Worked when I put it in storage, but needs some resto. But logistics may be a problem.
Too bad that Hotpoint isn't in working order, but that explains why the ad is still up. Contending with a door seal like that one, it's no wonder it likely worked itself to death.
It looks like a perfect size for a trailer, though.
Don't know how I missed the part about it not working! If I had noticed that I wouldn't have posted it. I think I was concentrating on prices on the ads. We all know how most people today think anything "vintage" is worth big $$$. Some of the prices I saw on some of them were ridiculous.
