turquoise with envy

Beautiful job! I wanted to do the boomerang thing so bad and by the time I finally found the samples, my contractor's time was getting short and they said we'd have to wait 8 weeks on delivery of the laminate. I may go back and re-do the counters just to get them.

thanks all .......

thanks everyone for the comments/compliments, its nice to share with others the stuff we are all fond of ......

oh and for Bob (appnut)

Hi Bob, my DW model is a KDI-61, it says Imperial 21 on the front console. It is a 1984 model, one of the last couple years that HOBART was still making these machines (until 1986). It was a portable that I converted to "built-in". It was mint condition interior when I found it, hardly used. Its a tad noisier, but I love the look, especially with the SS panels which I also added. I actually kind of like the noise/sound. Its got that "industrial" edge. It does a phenomenal job cleaning anything, even burnt/baked on food. Its one of the best "cleaning" dishwashers I have ever used. I tried to install my SS Frigidaire spin tube DW from '62 but it was to tall by 1/2". Oh well, I love the KA. Take care --gregm

Looks fantastic, Greg. Very cool. My folks had pink & grey boomerang on their counters when I was growing up, with stainless steel edging. You did an awesome job!

thanks guys .................

as much as people love the counters, I am getting even more compliments on that light. When its the only light in the kitchen on, it has a cool effect with the "holes". I love it too. This is the current stove I have opposite the sink. I am going to take a few other pics when I finish painting the walls the second coat.

ooooooh it's so shiny!

I LOVE your kitchen! I think you've done an excellent job. From the counter top to that fabulous light above your sink, and now I see this stove you have and I'm all melty. Beautiful.

I was thinking they must smoke their breakfast too!

I thought the white one posted here a few days ago was bad enough....but this one is even worse! turquoise, white, pink, green, rainbow freaking brite, I don't care what color or how old...that's just ridiculous
Although, I will give them this much, this range is really really clean inside and out, one of the better kept ones I've seen in some time. If there was a guarantee it was totally updated and safe as far as wiring, a collector might pay as much.
But I thought it would look fantabulous in Greg's kitchen. Not that the range he has in there now isn't lusty enough!
