Does anyone know of a place that will rebuilt DRYER timers

I have heard differently from other members,  but I have used Midwest Timer Services in Benton Harbor, MI for a few repairs now (one just last fall!).

I sent a time in January and they sent it back saying they no longer rebuild mechanicals from the 50's. Its worth a try since dryers are simpler than washers.

Do you know what's wrong with the timer? As Jon said, dryer timers like this are fairly simple and perhaps the repair is something you can do yourself.

Bad Dryer Timer

If you post a good picture of the timer removed from the machine sometimes a good used timer motor can be found if thats all yours needs for example. There were just a few manufacturers of timers in the 1950s.

When John rebuilds classic dryers, he puts a heat relay in to take the high voltage out of the timer to preserve the contacts. I could always tell when the heat cycled on my Filtrators & LK Combo because of the loud snap of the solenoid in the relay.

We took the timer out and there was a wire that had burned into. Darrell replaced the wire and put it back together. When we turned it on it immediately burned the new wire also. The heat still stays on when the motor is turned off. Also, there is no "click" sound at the 5 minute cool down period point. Any ideas would be appreciated.
