I made this video last winter, and forgot about it. Just loaded it on YouTube tonight. Just a video of the Surgilator Surging. <:

Timeless, they even had the waterfall filter flowing in black and white newspaper copy back in the day. Great Vid. Thanks Rick

my first

THIS looks to be the washer my mom had. My first aqaintance with AUTOMATIC WASHER. No WONDER I love washers! The lights, style, sounds,& chromed spinner surgalator cap. Yep,that machine 'perved' me to washer mania from age 1 1/2 on.

Enjoyed your WP washer video clip-the purple console light makes it more interesting!and yes could also see the UV light.Like the high water level-less splashing!the agitator blades are completely covered by the water.

How many lights inside?

Hi Rick, GREAT video!!! Thank you for posting it!!! So just how many lights does that washer have inside (lighting the wash tub)?? Not including the console and "lid button" it looks like there are THREE (one left, the germ or "Sun" light and another on the right. Is that correct???

Thanks!
Kevin

Glad you guys like the video! The machine has eight lights in all. Tub light, and ozone light, front pushbutton light, one light in the water level control, one light in the temp control, two lights in the timer area, and the top light that is covered with the purple gel.

The water level is slightly higher because I replace the water level control with a 14lb capacity control in all my early KM/WP machines. That way the tub can be filled higher. It is more gentle on the clothes, and increases capacity that way. The 14lb tub is no larger in size than the tub in the early models anyway, so it makes no difference. I consider it an "update" <:

Hi Eugene, The lint filter was an option for 1956, and this machine did not have one. I added the filter system during the restoration. It is a Kenmore filter cartridge, from a 1961 Kenmore. The Whirlpool cartridge was black plastic instead of metal.

love the filter flo....like a waterfall...ashame the nem machines don't have more lights all over...inside and out...also wonder why whirlpool/kenmore never made the agitator with 4 vanes....i liked the kenmore one with six vanes at the bottom but the vanes should have come up to the top....we need to get jobs at these manufactures and show them how to build a great machine...at least we have the experience to know what were doing and what people want...lol
