I defrosted the Combination today for the first time in many months. I appreciate that GE designed a system where frost only accumulates on the ceiling, preventing frost from encasing contents over time.
As is customary when I defrost, I also vacuumed the condenser. These refrigerators were originally equipped with two knurled-head screws to hold the grille in place, but mine has hex head bolts that require a socket wrench.
Long ago, a one-thread wonder posted that he was giving up on a GE Combo that was beyond repair. I sent him a message advising that I'd be interested in the two grille screws if he was going to junk it, and he never replied.
Does anyone have a couple of these kicking around that they'd be willing to part with? I'll gladly pay for the items as well as mailing costs.
