There is a 60's Maytag combo washer/dryer for sale in the San Francisco Bay Area (Fremont/Union City/ Newark). Craigslist Ad 4791815607 under Antiques category.
Owner states good exterior condition and great prop or display.

I sent the seller an e-mail about 30 mins ago.   But I'll have to wait and see if I get a response.

I'm also on the phone with Andy (RCD) right now and he is in the area!

Wow!

Travis, I had to move from Reno to The Bay Area and live right near this. If you don't go for this, I sure will but do not wish to cut you off! Let me know!

Drew,

I have been in contact with the owner. It's been paid for. I am looking at shipment options. This was happening at the expense of my sleep last night.

I am sorry, I have never been able to even see a combo, let alone buy one, let alone a Maytag. How big are they and how much do they weigh?

Congratulations Travis! I would be like you - never saw a combo, let alone a Maytag, except for any shown here in web pages. Hope it ships well. Yay!

Congratulations!

Yet another Maytag combo eludes the Maytagman. Someday. That's what I get for watching the EAST bay CL, not the WHOLE Bay Area CL! Lol!

I'm jazzed for you, Travis! You have joined a very exclusive club. I'm not sure how many exist in the club, let alone exist. They are huge and heavy. Make sure it is crated and padded well with insurance to boot! We hope to see plenty of pictures!

Maytag Combo

Congratulations Travis, By my count there are 7 MT combos known to exist at this time, three are in museums and four will now be in private collectors hands. I had one of these 30+ years ago and did a lot of work on it, if you have any questions about it get in touch.

Thanks John,

I will have plenty of questions. I spoke to the seller today. She's aware they were "recalled". It was plucked out of a basement by a friend and has sat in her warehouse for years. She's like us, won't send it to the scrapper. I thanked her for making it available and not killing it. I have never put a combo on my list of wants, since they're so uncommon. Normally the Bendix turns my head, but someone in Boston is hogging all of them.

This on is in a warehouse with a loading dock! No weird basement steps or other difficulties to deal with. Christmas came early.
