'64 Norge Action

So, here we go again, I'm still experimenting with the video option of our digital camera. Sorry for the abrupt ending...I'm still not sure how to turn the darn camera off! Thought I would include a shot of the washer's sorta matching dryer console. They are a lovely pair, but both need a new paint job. And had to give a very brief demonstration of the "slow" agitation speed for those dainty delicates!

Still in search of that elusive lint filter. And if you look closely, this machine seems to have the option of switching the lid to open from one side to another. Gotta love Norge! And also note the quiet operation of such a hard-working and dependable machine..! (and sorry about my blurry reflection in the console of the machines)

Awesome video! Thanks again for posting, I subscribed in hopes for more videos. I suppose its time I made a video of the A712 and uploaded it along with some other dishwasher videos.

I'll do my best to film all of my machines...am afraid of the whole "Blair Witch Project" thing with the shaky camera! More to come soon, and thank you for the encouragement. Am thinking it's time for a video of my '65 turquoise Whirlpool since everyone seems to love it so.

NORGE WASHER

Todd great job you will be a great movie maker in no time, now I need to do the same. It is neat to see one of these old early large tub Norges running again, I have one that looks just like yours without the florescent panel light. I think these are really a year or two newer than 1964, you can usually date them by looking for the dates on the timer motor, water inlet valve and selector switch. Good luck with your neat machine, their are not many of the early ones left.

I have a 1969 Wards Touch N Washer by Norge and love it. They really do clean well, besides, they have the Vorpulator and all the cool noises.

Carbon Dating

And my apologies if I'm not dating my Norges correctly -- when I got them for trade (for my dearly departed '74 Frigidaire 1-18 set) I was told they were vintage 1964. Had to love that, since that's the year I was born!

Great video Todd, I just love this machine, I use my '64 Wards all winter long. It's a wonderful washer for washing large loads of heavy weight winter clothes such as jeans, sweatpants and sweatshirts, etc. It washes and rinses thoroughly and has decent water extraction ability as well, certainly near the best of the large capacity machines of the 60s and 70s.
