Ohhh Tim.....

Isn't this is your neck of the woods? I know you aren't an electric range kind of guy, but...

Bluejay, I was wondering whatever happened to that sunny yellow 30" range. After the ebay auction expired I had pondered contacting the seller if a deal could be made. But, I got busy with other things and kind of forgot about it. I'm glad it avoided the crusher and found a loving home!

The seller...

was fantastic to deal with. I was a little leery of having it shipped from Wisconsin, but we looked around locally for about a year for a 30" and had no luck. Gas is really popular here and there are a LOT of vintage gas stoves. Thank you for confirming the color; that's what we thought it was. When it comes time to replace our awful, awful side-by-side fridge, we're having the new one repainted to match.

I hope that 40" finds a home where it will be appreciated and used. :D

Bluejay, if you ever need technical service information on that range I have the 1963 Range Tech-Talk issue and I also have it scanned. It's a big file so I would have to cut it apart to email it. Let me know if you have any interest.

Kenmore, definitely! We haven't run into any issues as of yet, but seeing as it's a 50 year old stove and is our daily driver, it would be handy. I started a parts box for it and have been picking up parts here and there in the event something goes. I'd love to find an extra speed heat switch and element to squirrel away (In an ideal world, I'd just have a parts stove, but the wife and the lack of space won't allow it). We use the speed heat burner pretty frequently and I'm loathed to convert it to a normal burner if it should go.
