Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Those are TOL and with the white buttons, the first of this new panel series. Would that make these a 710 or 810?

Nick, thank you for retrieving the link.

White buttons. Yes, that was found on the 10 series washer and dryer. Actually, they almost could be called ivory. The dishwashers of the same time frame also had them. When they went to the 12 series machines, the colors went to brown. After that, the machines were a black control panel with black buttons & knobs.

I agree, they look to be 810's. VERY nice machines. Wish the post wife budget was a little looser at this time but, as the appliance grim reaper, I'll just wait. In the end, they all come to me... LOL! Thanks for thinking of me!

I much prefer the look of the ivory treatment for buttons and timer dial.  Good to know this trim indicates the same mechanics as the center dials as opposed to the later short stroke action.  The brown-on-brown never appealed to me.

Unfortunately, being in the midst of the worst drought in California history, the responsible thing to do is keep using the Affinity, and it will also help to avoid penalties on the water bill for over-use, which are likely to be implemented at some point.

And Ralph, aren't you glad you tripped across the Miele too? My sister and BIL are wanting to replace their Maytag Dependable Care top loader with a front loader. I'm telling her to get a SQ.

Bob --

Yes, after the first sparkling load produced by the Miele, there was no looking back.  I've grown accustomed to the longer cycle time, and it has never been an inconvenience.  Water efficiency is an added bonus.  If (when) the Miele ends up needing a prohibitively expensive repair, I'll consider going retro again, but no older than a soil sensing WP/KM/KA Ultra Wash model.

I know that TL Maytags were always at the top of CU's list for efficiency among the rest of the field, mostly attributable to their smaller tub size, but compared to a modern day FL machine they're hogs.  I sure do like them as a satisfying form of entertainment, though.

I'm probably better off sticking with my plan of an Easy Spindrier for a patio machine so I have the option of reusing wash water along with regulating the rinse water usage.
