A Burning Smell from my Kenmore at End of Wash Cycle

From my Would Be-Lady, the spin, the final, (or could actually be both, the wash on its way to rinse) emits a burning smell...

And in this case, what brought this to my attention, are some soap suds and I even turned the timer dial to give the wash load of wash cloths and towels another spin, as to me the laundry seemed to be noticeably damp, as to me suspect the water hadn't been completely extracted...

burnt motor on kenmore washer?

did you check to see if your kenmore washer motor burn and when you place it on spin do it drain or do water still remains because i know base on my 1993 inglis superb II washer (whirlpool) that the washer motor has burn and needed to be replace as it would not went to drain the water on spin and left the tub full i had to drain the water by hand?

I nearly had that problem before, and even suffered unbalanced loads, howver, I was told by you guys how to properly load my washer and even reduce my water usage, so that quickly and easily remidied that...

 

Before, the  laundry was still soaking wet and I gave it another spin, but I hope that isn't happening now or evolving into anything worse, I will see how my next wash load fares...

when you mentioned 'soap suds'....is it possible you had a suds lock condition, that will slow down a spin cycle....best to do another Rinse/Spin than just a spin only...

and under these conditions, it may strain the motor a bit, but the clutch is taking the worst of it, and possibly overheating...

this guy gives a good insight into checking if a clutch is worn and slipping....

Well, here's a load I did afterwards, followed by another that I just didn't photograph and the burning smell was nil...

As for the soap suds, I just need to probably switch to a more low-sudsng detergent!

maybe add a bit of softener to help kill down the suds during the rinse....

you may have to experiment with different detergents to see what works best with your laundry habits and water conditions...

Foca can be a sudser.  I haven't used Ariel in years, don't know the current characteristics.

2 rinse would also help eliminate extra suds?
