Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yeah, it gets ya a designation. The bottom rack was pretty much straight-forward but the two to three wine glasses/gobblets with their creative placement helped ya with extra points!!

How do things in the top rack get clean with no wash arm und

The "tower" thing in the middle of the bottom rack next to th silverware basket.

My aunt would go crazy if she saw that load of dishes. Its just all wrong.
First that china should never be put in the dishwasher and especially that good silverware. The pattern will wash off and the silver will tarnish. Pots of course have to be washed by hand. Nothing plastic, never steak knives,it dulls them. A chopping board? thats just crazy. Those wine glasses are going to explode touching each other, the shot glass, too small. It will fall in the bottom, break and ruin the dishwasher. Basically the only things she puts in is glasses, only small ones, not the big ones, some cutlery and plates and mugs. Everything is washed first then put on the longest cycle with the machine half filled. Of course everything must be towel dried after. What a time saving machine a dishwasher is.

Dishwasher Items

There are only two categories that never get loaded in the dishwasher. 1) Calphalon 2) Hinkels knives. Everything else can go without question. Even the cutting board (which isn't wood at all)

Malcolm....

I totally second that. Three things for me that never go in....my Wusthof knives, my cast iron, and my large wooden cutting board. Everything else, goes right in the dishwasher. If it is not dishwasher safe, or will not fit, it goes in the goodwill box.

I think dishwashers are one of the most ingenious inventions, ever!! I could not survive without one.

I always put my cutting board(s)

In the dishwasher. The plastic ones recommend it. They come out nice and sanitized and ready for the next mess.

I think this qualifies for a Bob load. I miss my Jet Clean, it was the best and quietest dishwaher I ever had. The 300 HA-(Quiet series) is good, but not as good as the Jetclean.

Cutting Boards,

Cutting Boards always go in my dishwasher. Have you seen wooden cutting boards that only get washed by hand... Yuk!!

'Things that don't get put in the dishwasher'

Bugger that for a laugh.

Life is too hectic as it is, to worry about washing things by hand. All food utensils go in our machine; if they wear out, they get replaced. Crystal glasses go in too; there is less chance of them breaking in the dishwasher, than clattering in the kitchen sink.

Man.... I miss the "Jet Clean" Maytag Dishwasher.. I think they out clean anything.. I have a newer Maytag, does good, just once in awhile I'll have to wash something by hand.

Wooden Cutting Board?

Why I haven't owned a wooden cutting board in over 20 years. Wont have it in my house. Mine are a white composite material safer for knives, bleaching, and the dishwasher. I have one that is used for meats and poultry, and one that is used for everything else.

And the dishwasher wont only dull your expensive knives but ruin the handles on them as well.

Why Bother Then???

Why would you bother having a Dishwasher at all if you are only going to put less than half of what you use daily into it?
I have TWO full sized Bosch's that are run almost daily-and almost EVERYTHING goes in there. If not, I don't have it in my home. Absolutely NO pre-rinsing allowed either! (And I'm a single person by the way).
My knives, and a couple of appliance parts for my smaller kitchen appliances is all that can't go in-and if I had my way, they certainly would.
Not only do I agree with bosch2460 that the Dishwasher is one of the best invetions EVER, but I personally think that washing dishes by hand is just completely gross and disgusting-both for the feeling of doing the job, and for the fact the most people have no clue how to properly clean &/or even rinse a dish. Then they wanna invite you over for dinner? YUCK!!!!!
AND, Human hands cannot clean as thoroughly as a Dishwasher nor can they sterilize, let alone sanitize dishes.
So cutting boards should definitely be put into the Dishwasher-no bleach needed!
