Hotpoint!

we had the same exact hotpoint but built in model. washed really well and certainly used enough water!
My Aunt had the same exact Frigidaire as above and it was also a decent performer and held tons of dishes!

Another awesome purchase.

Congrats on finding both dishwashers. Any plans on adding a window to the hotpoint like you did to your amazing KA & Roto Rack?

How's the top rack performance with the Hotpointian tower?
Meh, lol it's fine except in the far corners.

Any plans on adding a window to the Hotpoint like you did to your amazing KA & Roto Rack?
No not at this time, but you never know :-D

youtube videos

Is it possible if you can upload more youtube videos of various washers, dryers and dishwashers in operation?I would like to hear what they sound like. Brands like Westinghouse/wci/Frigidaire, GE/hotpoint, Whirlpool etc. Unimatic1140, Is it possible that you can show us the innerworkings of a GE filter-flo of various model years? Thank you.

Dishwashers

Robert, what amazing finds you have brought home there...my goodness that KitchenAid KDI-58 is a stunner, puts everything we have in the UK to shame, including the Miele Professionals!

I hope to find some amazing dishwasher and washer sites when I visit the U.S. this year, my favourite dishwasher is the KDI-54 KitchenAid by Hobart, just love the style.

Brandon.

That Kitchenaid was a find of the century!  You're right, used once most likely and she hated it (too much trouble) and away it went.  Glad Y'all have it!

I've never seen such a pristine looking KA, from my armchair anyways. You need to cut a hole in the floor and arrange for instant up and down appearances of your dishwashers..real vertical tetras action. I would have laughed myself awake at night, too. Nice finds!

Cycle sequence

What is the cycle sequence for those two machines? I remember the old GE/Hotpoint dishwashers from the 70s did something like 7 water change outs and 16 gallons of water. That latter changed to 11.4 gallons and 6 fills 51 minutes with a 35 minute dry cycle:

In the late 80s they went back to 7 change outs but only increased the water usage to 12.1 gallons. The cycle a bit longer with time taken away from the dry cycle.

After that water usage declined sharply, a huge bummer imo. The Hotpoint GE hybrid were made until the mid to late 80s as I remember tons of them being tossed out from condos years ago. The ones from the early 80s were like the GEs at the time, 6 water change outs at 11.4 gallons (W-R-R-MW-R-R). Latter on they tweaked the cycle sequence where it was W-R-MW-R-R-R with one of the rinses moved after the main wash.

While the Hotpoint is not as good at cleaning as the Kitchen aid IMHO, I have huge soft spot for old GE machines lol.

In any case Awesome finds. I am in love with the Kitchen Aid too. The best Dishwasher ever built imo. Let us know how they work. Bob load pics too :D
